Helping Hands and Hearts for Haiti

Fr. Marc and the children of Pwoje Espwa need your help!

As if conditions weren't bad enough in Haiti before the earthquake, times truly are desperate now.

Fr. Marc will see a spike in the number of children under his care since so many adults were killed and orphans will need a place to live.  It is suspected that he may increase his numbers by several hundred children.  Which means that they will need clothing, shelter, medicine and education for all these newly orphaned little ones.  Help is needed.

Father Dave has designated the weekend of February 6 & 7 to be "Haiti Orphans Weekend" at Santiago.  We will sell baked goods, tee shirts, candy bars, wrist bands and whatever else... the Knights will serve a Spaghetti Dinner Saturday night, and a Pancake Breakfast Sunday morning.  They will also be collecting monetary donations and Deacon Don will preach, which is a real god-send in itself since he and his lovely Dottie were part of the group from Santiago that left Haiti 5 hours before the quake hit.

Fr. Marc continues to blog on his website daily about the challenges they face, the prayers that continue to be answered, and the need which is so great.  Click here to follow the blog.

There are so many ways we can pull together as a community and help those in such dire need, starting with the Haiti Orphans Weekend...hope to see you all there.

"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:40
